The Pittsburgh Penguins will look to earn a victory over their in-state rival Flyers on Saturday afternoon (1:00 PM on Root Sports and NHL Network) at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly.

The in-state rivalry game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers renews Saturday afternoon, as both Eastern Conference Atlantic Division foes meet at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA (1:00 PM on Root Sports and NHL Network). The Pens' (32-20-5, 69 points) will be looking to avenge a 4-2 loss to the Flyers (32-18-7, 71 points) on Dec. 29.

Pittsburgh will also be trying to gain ground on Philadelphia in the Atlantic Division standings, which has the second-place Flyers just two points ahead of the fourth-place Penguins.

On Wednesday, Pittsburgh was edged by the Anaheim Ducks, 2-1, as the Penguins had a small two-game winning streak snapped. The loss ended a three-game homestand, which featured victories over the Winnipeg Jets (last Saturday) and Tampa Bay Lightning (on Sunday).

Pitttsburgh's Evgeni Malkin enters the game as the NHL's top point-getter with 69, while Philly's Claude Giroux is second-best (67).

The Flyers are coming off a dominating 7-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres Thursday. Philly trailed 2-0 after the first period, but pelted Buffalo with four goals in the second and three goals in the third. Forward Wayne Simmonds and Maxime Talbot each netted two goals. Simmonds second chased Buffalo starting goaltender Jhonas Enroth just six minutes into the second period.

Philadelphia enters the game as the money-line favorite at (-100).
