The Penguins are 8-2-0 in their last ten games, and had an eight-game winning streak stopped Wednesday night in a 1-0 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. During that eight game run, Evgeni Malkin tallied 10 goals and four assists. Malkin was named the NHL's Second Star for the month of January after scoring 12 goals in as many games.

The Bruins are coming off a 3-0 loss Thursday to the Carolina Panthers. Boston has been treading water of late, alternating wins and losses over their past 10 games.

In the previous meeting between the two teams this season, Boston prevailed 3-1 behind 45 saves from goaltender Tim Thomas. Matt Cooke scored the lone goal for the Penguins.
