The big storyline involving the Pens this week has been Sidney Crosby being cleared for contact after another months-long disappearance as a result of concussion symptoms. Don't expect that to be a factor against Toronto -- Crosby won't be playing.
Of course, the Pens have won six straight without him, including a 2-1 win against the Coyotes on Monday. Marc-Andre Fleury has played brilliantly recently, winning his last five games while allowing one goal in three of them and picking up a shutout in another. It looks, however, like rookie Brad Thiessen will start Wednesday night.
The Maple Leafs, meanwhile, are in the midst of an epic slump, losing all but two of their last 13 games. They will also likely be without star winger Joffrey Lupul, who is suffering from a shoulder injury.
Earlier Wednesday afternoon, the Penguins unveiled a statue of team legend and current owner Mario Lemieux.
