Flyers Vs. Penguins, 2012 NHL Playoffs Game 3: Pittsburgh Travels To Philadelphia Desperate For A Win

After two crushing losses on home ice, the Pittsburgh Penguins look to regroup when they travel to Philadelphia to take on the Flyers in Game 3 of the their first round 2012 Eastern Conference playoff series.

Pittsburgh blew a 3-0 lead in Game 1 of the series, then followed that up by blowing leads of 2-0 and 3-1 in Game 2 on their way to an 0-2 deficit in the series with the hated Flyers.

The Penguins will need to once again jump out early on the Flyers if they want to make this series competitive. Pittsburgh has outscored Philadelphia 6-1 in the first period in the series. Marc-Andre Fleury will also have to play better between the pipes for Pittsburgh to win. The Penguins netminder has allowed 11 goals on 45 shots in the first two games of the series.

The Penguins can also take solace in knowing the Flyers have not exactly been dominant at home this season. Philadelphia brings a rather pedestrian 22-13-6 record at Wells Fargo Center into their first playoff home game of 2012.
