Mike Milbury Apologizes For Comments About Sidney Crosby, Penguins

Dejan Kovacevic notes that NBC analyst Mike Milbury has apologized to the Penguins for his offensive comments regarding the Penguins' dustup with the Flyers this weekend.

"I reached out to David Morehouse and the Penguins about the comments I made yesterday on Philadelphia radio. In hindsight, I realize what I said was inappropriate and wrong, and I want to apologize to the Penguins organization and their fans."

Milbury said that Pens coach Dan Bylsma, in response to provocations from Peter Laviolette, should have "taken off his skirt." He also referred to Sidney Crosby's "35th concussion," which wasn't particularly funny given Crosby's struggles with head injuries.

These comments were, to put it mildly, moronic, especially from someone who's supposed to be an analyst. They were also sexist. Pens fans have spent the past couple days ranting about them. My guess is that this apology won't do much to quell Pens fans' anger.
