The Pittsburgh Penguins selected McNeill with the No. 170 overall pick in the 2010 NHL Draft.
The Pittsburgh Penguins signed defenseman Reid McNeill to a three-year entry-level contract on Tuesday, according to Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Details of the deal were not included in the report.
The Penguins have since confirmed the signing.
McNeill was the Penguins's sixth-round selection (170th overall) in the 2010 NHL Draft after playing for the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League during the 2009-2010 season. This past season, he suited up for the Barrie Colts of the OHL, appearing in in 51 regular-season contests for the Colts, finishing with 12 points with three goals and nine assists. He also played in 13 playoff games.
