While the Pittsburgh Penguins are dealing with the possible trade of center Jordan Staal, they could be looking for a long-term solution in the NHL Draft. In the TSN mock draft, published by Craig Button and Pierre McGuire, they are projected to select center Tomas Hertl of the Czech Republic with the No. 22 overall draft pick.

22. Pittsburgh Penguins

Player: Tomas Hertl
Position: Centre
Team: Slavia Praha (CZE)
Pierre McGuire's Notes: "Very talented, offensive minded centre who put up big points at the World Jrs."

Hertl played the 2011-12 season with Slavia Praha in the Czech Extraliga. In that season he scored 11 goals and tallied 15 assists. While playing for the Czech Republic at last year's World Junior Championships, Hertl scored three goals and had two assists and finished with a plus-two rating as the Czech's finished fifth in the tournament.

The 2012 NHL Draft is scheduled to take place at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh starting at 6 p.m. The draft will be televised on NBC Sports Network.
