The 2012 NHL Draft is in full swing on Saturday and according to Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the area's first local product has been selected in the sixth round by the Washington Capitals:
Riley Barber of Washington, Pa. goes to Capitals in Round 6. First local product to go in this draft.

Barber, who was born in the Pittsburgh area and now lives in Livonia, Mich., gave a verbal commitment in September to play college hockey at the Miami of Ohio. The right winger is also a member of the TEAM USA U-18 squad and is the son of Don Barber, who played 115 games in the NHL.
