Jordan Staal Signs 10 Year, $60 Million Deal With Carolina Hurricanes, According To Report

Jordan Staal, traded by the Pittsburgh Penguins on Draft night just over a week ago, has reportedly inked a 10 year, $60 million contract extension with his new team, the Carolina Hurricanes. Via Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

Pittsburgh dealt Staal for center Brandon Sutter, defenseman Brian Dumoulin, and the No. 8 overall pick in the 2012 Draft, which was used on defenseman Derrick Pouliot. The years and dollar amount might seem familiar to Pittsburgh fans, as it is the exact same offer the team made to Staal and his representatives prior to the trade. The Pittsburgh offer was turned down, as Staal wanted the opportunity to play with his brother Eric as a member of the Hurricanes.
