The Pittsburgh Penguins are looking for a little more veteran help and they could find it in veteran winger Shane Doan. According to a tweet by Shelley Anderson of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Penguins have extended an offer to the Phoenix Coyotes veteran and there is interest on both sides.
Have confirmed the #Penguins have made offer to UFA Shane Doan and there is mutual interest. Don't have terms of offer. No timetable.— Shelly Anderson (@pgshelly) July 16, 2012
Doan has spent his entire NHL career with the Coyotes, scoring 318 goals over his career. He has a total of 788 points in the regular season. In the playoffs this past season, Doan scored five goals in 16 games, helping the Coyotes reach the Western Conference Finals for the first time in franchise history.
