Pirates Vs. Indians: Carlos Santana, Travis Hafner, Josh Tomlin Lead Cleveland To Victory

The Pirates couldn't muster much offense against Josh Tomlin and the Indians Friday night in Cleveland, and the Indians added three runs late in the game to top off a 5-1 win.

The Indians scored one run in the third on a bases-loaded balk by Kevin Correia, then another in the fourth on a solo homer by Carlos Santana.

The Pirates cut that lead in half in the sixth when Ronny Cedeno doubled and then Xavier Paul knocked him in, but three straight Indians got hits against Danny Moskos after Moskos entered in the eighth. The last of those was a long double by Travis Hafner that nearly went over the wall. Tim Wood then came on and allowed both inherited runners to score.

Tomlin went 6.2 innings and struck out five while walking none and allowing one run. His stuff was unimpressive, but on this particular night, it was more than good enough to mow down the Pirates.
