Ohlendorf allowed seven runs in the second inning, thanks in part to a throwing error by Ryan Doumit, but also thanks in part to Ohlendorf's own inability to get anyone out. He then got through three more innings after that and turned things over to the bullpen, where the adventures continued - Bucs relievers allowed four more runs, including three by Chris Resop.
Injuries to Paul Maholm and Kevin Correia have left the Pirates scrambling for pitchers, and minor-leaguer Aaron Thompson will pitch against the Brewers Wednesday afternoon. That isn't very likely to go well, since Thompson has struggled against even Class AA batters this season.
