Kevin Correia's career with Pirates may be over

In what may have been his last start with the Pirates, Kevin Correia was great. The veteran righty allowed just one earned run and six hits in a 5-1 Pirates' victory.

Correia will finish the season with a 12-11 record for the second year in a row. He has now pitched two full seasons for the Pirates. With his contract set to expire, Correia is not expected to return to Pittsburgh.

He told the media,

"It's huge (to end on a good note). When you go into the offseason on a bad one you can't stop thinking about it for weeks and weeks, so it's nice just to rest your mind a little bit going into the offseason."

Correia ends the season with a 4.21 ERA, which is better than his career mark of 4.54. The 32-year-old pitched six seasons in San Francisco and two in San Diego before arriving in Pittsburgh in 2011.
