Pirates Employee Trevor Gooby Delivers Baby At McKechnie Field

If you've ever spent much time around Pirate City in Bradenton, you've probably seen Trevor Gooby, whether you realize it or not. Gooby is the Pirates' Director of Florida Operations, and he's in charge of everything down there. Including, apparently, delivering babies.

Yes, really. Tuesday night at McKechnie Field, where the Pirates play their Spring Training games, the Bradenton Marauders were evidently offering food from this year's stadium menu for a crowd to taste-test, and Gooby ended up having to deliver a baby boy.

The Pirates' Spring Training season doesn't officially get underway until Saturday, but it's already off to a rollicking start. What a wild night for Gooby. Congratulations are certainly in order for him and for the mom.
