Pirates Vs. Reds Score Update: Pittsburgh Leads Cincinnati 2-0 After Five Innings

Through five innings, the Pittsburgh Pirates lead the Cincinnati Reds at PNC Park by a score of 2-0. For the most part, they might want to thank their starter James McDonald for that.

The right-hander has struck out seven batters compared to just two walks and two hits allowed over the five innings, cooling the Reds' bats and keeping them off the scoreboard.

Meanwhile, Pittsburgh got all of its scoring done in the bottom of the third inning. After leadoff hitter and left fielder Jose Tabata doubled, second baseman Neil Walker stepped up to the plate and promptly homered to deep right field, giving the team a 2-0 lead it has yet to relinquish. Oddly enough, those have been the Pirates' only hits of the game.
