Pirates Vs. Reds: Rubber Match Features Kevin Correia, Mike Leake

Stay connected for news and updates

The Pirates and Reds play the rubber match of their three-game series in Cincinnati on Thursday at 7:10 p.m.

The game will pit two back-of-the-rotation pitchers in Kevin Correia and Mike Leake. Correia may not be with the Bucs' rotation much longer, and a 20:19 K:BB ratio for the season doesn't exactly portend success, but he's performed fairly well recently, snagging a win in Milwaukee last weekend and putting up a quality start last week against the Cubs.

The Pirates beat Leake in early May, and he got bombed in his next start against the Nationals as well, but he's been much better recently, with solid recent starts against the Braves and Astros to his credit.

After defeating the Bucs 5-4 on Wednesday, the Reds currently hold a three-game lead over the Pirates and Cardinals in the NL Central.
