The Pirates and Brewers will begin their three-game series on Tuesday night with the two teams tied in the wild card standings.

The Pittsburgh Pirates wrapped up their series with the Chicago Cubs early Tuesday morning, and they'll have a short turnaround as they fly home to start a three-game set with the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night. Both the Pirates and Brewers are currently sitting 2.5-games behind the St. Louis Cardinals for this season's final postseason spot.

The Pirates will send A.J. Burnett to the mound in the series opener. Burnett is 15-7 on the season with a 3.66 ERA. He'll be looking for more run support than the Pirates have been giving him lately, as they've only given Burnett seven runs to work with in his last five outings.

The Brewers will counter with Yovani Gallardo. Gallardo has a remarkably similar line to Burnett, going 15-8 on the season with a 3.72 ERA. Unlike Burnett, Gallardo has been getting loads of run support lately. The Brewers have won each of his last nine outings.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET on Tuesday. Local television coverage can be found on the ROOT Sports Network, and out-of-market viewers can watch the game on MLB.TV.
