A penalty-filled opening drive resulted in a field goal for the Tennessee Titans.
Chris Johnson racked up a huge 21-yard-run on the first play from scrimmage. The Steelers then got the Titans into a third-and-long situation near midfield, but a personal foul penalty on Ryan Clark got Tennessee a fresh set of downs. The Steelers continued to have trouble tackling Johnson, and then Matt Hasselbeck hit Jared Cook on the right side to get the Titans to the five-yard line.
An illegal block in the back penalty on the Titans moved the Titans back to the 14, and then a false start penalty moved the Titans back even farther. An illegal contact penalty against James Farrior gothe Titans a fresh set of downs at the Steelers’ eight yard line.
LaMarr Woodley then registered an awesome sack, bringing down Hasselbeck despite the efforts of a blocker in between them, and the Titans had to settle for a field goal.
