Ben Roethlisberger Sexual Assault Case To Go To Nevada Supreme Court

Ben Roethlisberger is back in the news for sexual assault accusation. The news this time pertains to 2009 civil accusations against him in Nevada, in which a hostess at Harrah's in Lake Tahoe accused him of a rape that took place in 2008. Roethlisberger denies the charges.

This week, the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Nevada, Michael L. Douglas, ordered that the full Nevada Supreme Court would decide on whether the case will be heard in Lake Tahoe, where the assault allegedly took place, or Reno, where the suit was filed. Roethlisberger's lawyers want the case to be tried in Lake Tahoe.

There are, of course, no new allegations here, only a minor court ruling. But it's yet another news story about Ben Roethlisberger and sexual assault, after discussion of Roethlisberger last offseason was dominated by an alleged sexual assault by Roethlisberger in Milledgeville, Georgia.

The Reno/Lake Tahoe case has been in the Nevada court system for years now, and it has been 20 months since Roethlisberger's change-of-venue request was denied. This one could go on for a long, long time.
