NFL Draft: Steelers Fifth-Rounder Chris Carter Goes Into NFL With His Brother

Stay connected for news and updates

Here's a nice article in the Trib about Steelers fifth-round NFL Draft pick Chris Carter, out of Fresno State, and his brother, David, a defensive tackle from UCLA who just so happened to be selected in the sixth round, by the Arizona Cardinals.

"I had faith it would happen, but (Saturday) I couldn't really breathe or stop crying until they both got called," [ the Carters' mother] LaGenia said by phone. "It was the happiest feeling of my life. A few months ago, David said he had a dream that he and his brother would shake hands and congratulate each other after the draft."

The article also notes that Chris wore No. 43 in college because he was a fan of Troy Polamalu. He won't be able to wear it anymore, but somehow I doubt he'll mind.

The two brothers could play against one another when the Steelers and Cardinals face off October 23.
