Steelers Vs. Redskins: Ben Roethlisberger Shaky In First Series

Stay connected for news and updates

The Steelers play their first preseason game Friday night.

The Steelers' first preseason game, against the Washington Redskins, is currently underway. The Steelers received. Maybe "received" isn't the right word, since new rules have resulted in so many kickoffs in the end zone so far this preseason, but the point is that they received the ball first.

Not that it means much, but Ben Roethlisberger was shaky in his first series - he threw a 19-yard completion to Antonio Brown, then threw a very weak-looking ball to Rashard Mendenhall for a reception, then completely missed a wide-open Mike Wallace for a deep ball that could have been a touchdown.

Daniel Sepulveda pinned the Redskins deep in their own territory, though, so they'll start there, and we'll get our first look at the Steelers defense, minus Troy Polamalu, who won't play due to his ongoing Achilles issues.

Stay here throughout the game, and be sure to check out Behind The Steel Curtain.
