2012 NFL Mock Draft: Two-Round Mock Draft Has Steelers Looking To Shore Up Both Lines

After Ben Roethliserger took a beating this season, many mock drafts have the Pittsburgh Steelers looking for help on the offensive line in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. The Steelers are locked in to the No. 24 pick in the first round where plenty of big-time college offensive tackles are projected to be available. Mocking the Draft, however, has the Steelers taking an interior lineman out of Wisconsin in Peter Konz. New Pitt Panther coach Paul Chryst is very familiar with Konz, who was an All-American this season.

Peter Konz, OG/OC, Wisconsin - The Steelers top 3 needs are all glaring but the position where the Steelers are hurting for talent the most it OG. Konz is the top center prospect and the #2 guard prospect in the draft and would likely start right away at LG

In the second round, Mocking the Draft has the Steelers switching sides of the ball and looking to add a piece on the defensive front. With the No. 24 pick in the second round, they project Pittsburgh selecting Alameda Ta'amu out of Washington.

Alameda Ta'amu, NT, Washington - Ta'Amu is the 2nd best NT in the draft and with no ILBs worth the pick, the Steelers can fill their 2nd biggest need. They may give Lamar Miller a strong look here as you won't be able to tell if Mendy can come back after his injury.
