Steelers Running Back Coach Kirby Wilson Suffers Burns In House Fire

Stay connected for news and updates

Steelers running back coach Kirby Wilson was badly burned in a house fire that occurred early Friday morning.

According to multiple reports on twitter and WPXI, Steelers running back coach Kirby Wilson was badly burned in a house fire that occurred at his home early Friday morning. The extent of his injuries and the damage to his home are not known. Wilson was flown to a Pittsburgh area hospital to be treated. A neighbor had this account.

"About 2:45 a.m., I was awoken by a number of pounding on doors," said neighbor David Sebesta. "Looked out my window, and there was policemen, about five or six, going down this row of houses, waking people up. I could smell burning. Fire trucks came and pulled a man out, looked like he was pretty badly burned, and carted him off to a hospital."

This could serve as a pretty big distraction for a Steelers team that is still preparing for their first round matchup with the Denver Broncos this weekend. We wish Kirby Wilson a speedy recovery.
