2012 NFL Draft Order: Pittsburgh Steelers Will Pick 24th Overall

Stay connected for news and updates

Prior to Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos in the 2012 NFL playoffs, the draft position for the Pittsburgh Steelers was up in the air. The Steelers finished the regular season with a 12-4 record, which under the normal draft rules would give the Steelers the No. 27 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. With the loss in the first round of the playoffs however, the Steelers will now pick No. 24 overall.

The teams in the playoffs have their draft position "reseeded" based on how they finish. Here is where the four teams who lost this weekend will pick in the upcoming draft:

21. Cincinnati Bengals - 9-7
22. Cleveland Browns (via Atlanta Falcons) - 10-6
23. Detroit Lions - 10-6
24. Pittsburgh Steelers - 12-4

This will be the earliest the Steelers have drafted since the 2010 NFL Draft, when the Steelers selected offensive lineman Maurkice Pouncey with the No. 18 overall pick.
