Ramon Foster: Steelers dealing with 'harsh reality' of poor rushing attack

The Steelers have struggled to move the ball on the ground, and that has not been lost on the players.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have long been associated with hard-nosed football on both sides of the ball, but this season, they have been among the worst in the league at gaining yards on the ground. The Steelers' rushing attack is ranked near the bottom of the league, and that has the players angry.

Offensive guard Ramon Foster was asked by a reporter on Thursday if the Steelers' rushing ranking bothers him. Foster did not hold back, according to Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

"You are (expletive) right it does. (Expletive) right," Foster said. "It’s a harsh reality but it is something we have to take on."

Foster had been told by coaches that the Steelers were ranked 31st in the league in rushing, and they were referring to Pittsburgh's yards per game average. A look at yards per carry is even worse, where the Steelers are 32nd, dead last. The Pittsburgh rushing attack is gaining just 2.6 yards per carry.

The Steelers had the week off to regroup and work on their ground game. They will be back in action on Sunday when they face the Philadelphia Eagles at Heinz Field.
