Steelers vs. Giants: Ben Roethlisberger ponders draft class he shared with Eli Manning

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger wonders if the quarterbacks selected in the 2004 NFL Draft could go down in history as the best group of quarterbacks selected in one draft.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger wonders if the quarterbacks drafted in 2004, which includes the New York Giants' Eli Manning, the San Diego Chargers' Philip Rivers and the Houston Texans' Matt Schaub could be remembered as the greatest class of quarterbacks in history:

"And all four quarterbacks -- Matt Schaub, Philip (Rivers), myself and Eli -- that were drafted there. I hope we can play well enough that one day they talk about us as maybe the best quarterback draft class of all time."

Roethlisberger was selected at No. 11 in that draft. Manning was originally drafted by the Chargers with the No. 1 overall pick, but the Giants selected Rivers with the No. 4 pick and orchestrated a trade that brought Manning to New York. Schaub was drafted in the third round by the Atlanta Falcons and was traded to the Texans in March 2007.

Not all of the quarterbacks drafted that year had great success. J.P. Losman was drafted by the Buffalo Bills at No. 22. But if you look at the fact that both Roetlisberger and Manning have combined for four Super Bowl championships, 2004 may even eclipse the quarterback class of 1983, which included quarterbacks such as Dan Marino, Jim Kelly and John Elway.
