The Pittsburgh Steelers finished the season with a victory, but veteran defensive end Brett Keisel suffered a knee injury which head coach Mike Tomlin said he thought was an MCL sprain.
Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Brett Keisel suffered a knee injury in Pittsburgh's season-ending 24-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns and after the game head coach Mike Tomlin said that the injury could be an MCL sprain.
Keisel will undergo an MRI to determine whether the injury is infact, as Tomlin believes, an MCL sprain or something else. Tomlin will likely have more information on the injury at his end of the season media availability on Monday.
Keisel, an 11-year veteran out of Brigham Young University, had one of the best seasons of his career in 2012, recording 45 combined tackles and forcing 4.5 fumbles in 15 games. The former Pro Bowl defensive end has spent his entire career with the Steelers after being a seventh round pick in the 2002 NFL Draft.
The Week 17 victory over Cleveland got Pittsburgh back to .500 at 8-8 on the season, but the Steelers will miss out on the playoffs for the first time since 2009.
