NFL Mock Draft 2012: Could Stanford's David DeCastro Be Available For Pittsburgh Steelers At No. 24?

Many mock draft experts have the Pittsburgh Steelers looking for help along the offensive line. The Steelers have been projected to take a range of guards or tackles in various mocks. But few have Pittsburgh winding up with Stanford's David Decastro, who many feel is one of the top offensive line prospects in this draft class. It's unlikely he falls to No. 24 but it's not impossible. It would be an ideal scenario and according to the experts, a relative no-brainer at that point of the first round.

One mock draft has this very scenario playing out. Russ Lande of the The Sporting News has Decastro falling right into the lap of the Steelers:

Pittsburgh's offensive line has been a weakness for a number of seasons and needs attention. DeCastro not only is a top prospect, but he plays with the aggressive, tough mentality the Steelers want in their linemen.

Lande has only four offensive linemen coming off the board before the No. 24 pick, allowing a top prospect like Decastro to still be available. Despite other needs on the defensive side of the ball, this would be an ideal scenario for Pittsburgh in April.
