2012 NFL Mock Draft: Cordy Glenn Could Help Solidify Steelers Offensive Line

The Steelers have a known need in the middle of their offensive line surrounding center Maurkice Pouncey. The guard spots can certainly use an upgrade, and Rob Rang of CBS Sports delivers them one in his latest 2012 NFL Mock Draft. Rang projects the Steelers to take Georgia guard Cordy Glenn with the No. 24 overall selection in the first round.

The Steelers seemingly patch up their offensive line annually, only to struggle with injuries and consistency up front. Glenn lacks the consistency to earn a first round grade from all clubs, but the 6-5, 350-pounder has the size the Steelers prefer upfront and, as a rare four-year starter with experience at left tackle, left guard and right guard he has the durability and versatility the team prioritizes on draft day. Roethlisberger was sacked five times against the Broncos.

Glenn is widely regarded as the second best player at a position that doesn't typically have a lot of positional value in the Draft. David DeCastro would be much better value, but he is off the board in this mock, and almost all others. If Glenn is the best player left on their board, he would be a good positional fit as well.
