NFL Mock Draft 2012: Michael Brockers To Visit Carolina Panthers

Dan Kadar at Mocking The Draft notes that the Carolina Panthers are hosting LSU defensive tackle Michael Brockers on March 8 for a pre-draft meeting.

This is significant because the Panthers will pick at No. 8 or No. 9 in the upcoming 2012 NFL Draft, and many mock drafts have them picking Penn State defensive tackle Devon Still in the first round. A month ago, Still was the Panthers' pick in perhaps the majority of mock drafts, but if the Panthers take Brockers instead, it's not clear where he'll fall -- the Seahawks are a possibility at No. 12, but if they decide to go a different direction, Still could fall all the way into the 20s. (For example, this recent mock by Dane Brugler has Still dropping to the Tennessee Titans at No. 20.)

By the way, as Kadar points out, this begins this year's cycle of news about pre-draft meetings. Prepare yourself for much, much more news like this in the coming weeks and months.
