2012 NFL Mock Draft: Mel Kiper Projects Devon Still To Broncos

The Denver Broncos played with a greatly improved defense in 2011, but there is still plenty of room for improvement along the defensive front. That is why Mel Kiper projected them to take Penn State defensive tackle Devon Still in his latest Mock Draft over at ESPN. Here is his rationale.

Denver has the pass rush off the edge but could add some depth on the interior, and Still is a guy who can penetrate and get tackles for loss from the inside. The Broncos could go a few ways here, which is actually a good thing as they pursue value, and I could certainly look for them to target a corner at this spot, but Still makes a lot of sense in that scheme. I have wide receiver down as a need, but they have a pretty good combo there right now, and given the struggles the offense could face, they need to be able to get stops.

Still would fit along nicely on the inside and could thrive while Elvis Dumervil and Von Miller occupy the offensive line's attention from the outside. Still can get to the passer in his one right, and would add another dynamic playmaker to the Denver Broncos front line.
