2012 NFL Combine Begins This Week In Indianapolis With Host Of Penn State, Pitt, And West Virginia Players Attending

After a thrilling Super Bowl XLVI, the NFL returns to Indianapolis this week to stage the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine as the draft season kicks into high gear. Draft prospects begin to arrive on Wednesday, with special teams players and offensive linemen starting the workouts at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday.

The combine is by invitation only, and this year a total of 328 prospects were invited. Seven Penn State Nittany Lions are heading to Indy for workouts, led by consensus first round pick Devon Still. The defensive linemen are the second last group to arrive, with workouts scheduled for Monday, February 27. The other six PSU players joining Still are Jack Crawford, D'Anton Lynn, Chaz Powell, Derek Moye, Nate Stupar and Johnnie Troutman.

Brandon Lindsey, Lucas Nix, Chas Alecxih, and Antwuan Reed will represent the Pitt Panthers football program while Bruce Irvin and Najee Goode were the two West Virginia invitees.

The combine workouts will be televised on NFL Network, starting Saturday morning at 9:00 am with coverage lasting throughout the weekend and early next week. NFL.com has a full explanation of the drills that prospects are put though during their workout sessions.
