Safeties and cornerbacks are running drills at the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday, and many of the results are in. The fastest 40-yard dash time belongs to LSU's Ron Brooks, who ran it in 4.35 seconds. Fellow Tiger Morris Claiborne, a likely early first round pick, ran a 4.47.

Unlike with the defensive linemen and linebackers on Monday, there aren't really any defensive backs who can be connected to the Steelers at this point. Cornerback probably won't be much of a priority, since the Steelers have Ike Taylor signed to a long-term deal and they drafted Curtis Brown and Cortez Allen last year. Safety might be, since Troy Polamalu and Ryan Clark aren't young, but this isn't supposed to be a great draft class for safeties. The might take one in the later rounds, but we might have to wait until pre-draft visits to get much of a sense of who that will be.
