2012 NFL Draft Projections: Where Will Pitt, Penn State, WVU Players Be Picked?

Stay connected for news and updates

SB Nation’s Pitt blog, Cardiac Hill, looks at the likely NFL Draft rounds of departing members of the Panthers. There aren’t any Pitt players who are likely to go in the early rounds, with Todd McShay projecting that Brandon Lindsey and Lucas Nix will go in Round 5, with Chas Alecxih going in the sixth round and Antwuan Reed going in the seventh.

I certainly agree that Lindsey is the most talented Panther in this year’s draft, even though he had a bit of a down year compared to his stellar 2010 campaign when he earned second team All-Big East honors and ranked 16th nationally in both sacks and tackles for losses.

Among other local schools, Penn State’s Devon Still consistently projects as a first-rounder, while Behind The Steel Curtain’s latest seven-round mock draft also had Nittany Lions Jack Crawford and Derek Moye going in Round 7. (That might change, of course, with the discovery that police found drug paraphernalia in Crawford’s apartment.) BTSC has WVU’s Bruce Irvin and Julian Miller going in the fifth round, while Keith Tandy goes in Round 6.
