According to a tweet, by ESPN NFL analyst Adam Schefter, current restricted free agent Mike Wallace is expected to stay in Pittsburgh for the 2012 NFL season, barring any sudden developments.

The Steelers currently have Wallace under a franchise tag. If a team wanted to make an offer to Wallace, they would have to pay their first-round draft pick for compensation.

Wallace had 72 catches for 1,193 yards and eight touchdowns in the 2011 football season. Wallace has 24 touchdowns in his three year career and over 3,000 yards receiving. Wallace started the 2011 season strong with three straight 100-yard receiving games, but only managed one other game over 100 yards for the remainder of the season.
