Many people have prescriptions to take Adderall for ADHD, although college students often use it illegally in order to help them concentrate for long periods of time. Fellow NFL players Garrett Hartley and Ben Patrick have received suspensions for using it. It's not yet clear why Saunders might have used the drug.

The Steelers recently added another tight end, Leonard Pope, via free agency.

Saunders caught four passes for 29 yards in 2012 after signing with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent.
