In a slightly surprising move, after Charlie Batch had already agreed to a new contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, Byron Leftwich has also reportedly re-signed with the team. Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette passed along the news.
QB Byron Leftwich tells me he comes to terms with #steelers .

Batch has been the primary backup for the Steelers in the past, so Leftwich is either willing to accept that he wasn't going to find a job elsewhere or holding the belief that he's going to be given a shot to compete for the No. 2 quarterback job. The Steelers also signed Jerrod Johnson and Troy Smith in the offseason, so they will need to cut two quarterbacks before the season begins.
