Pittsburgh tried out a trio of players over the past week, looking around for some new talent.
Just because the Pittsburgh Steelers' season has come to a close doesn't mean they aren't always on the lookout for fresh talent.
According to Steelers Depot, the team tried out three players this week: Tackle Shannon Breen, long snapper Nick Guess and punter Jake Rogers.
While nothing earth-shattering is expected to come out of these tryouts, it's a nice job of due diligence by Pittsburgh. Kicking the tires on a few players could potentially help the team.
It's interesting to note the long snapper and punter, suggesting that Mike Tomlin and the Steelers are looking to upgrade the special teams unit, or at least trying to get its attention.
Breen last played in the Arena Football League last year, while Guess was a member of the Oakland Raiders practice squad as a rookie in 2012. Rogers was with the Dallas Cowboys last season but never actually appeared in a regular-season game.
