BCS Rankings, Week 9: Penn State Ranked No. 19, West Virginia Clings To No. 25

The Week 9 BCS Standings have just been released, and the Penn State Nittany Lions have climbed two spots in the rankings. Coming off a 34-24 win over the Northwestern Wildcats, Penn State is now ranked No. 19 after being No. 21 in the first iteration of the rankings that determine who will meet in the BCS National Championship Game.

The West Virginia Mountaineers, despite an awful 49-23 loss at the hand of the Syracuse Orange Friday night, find themselves 25th in the standings. West Virginia is the lone Big East team in the BCS Top 25.

The LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide maintained the first and second positions, with Oklahoma State, Boise State and Clemson rounding out the Top 5.
