West Virginia vs. Baylor: Mountaineers Trail At The Half

After grabbing an early lead, West Virginia fell behind hot shooting Baylor to take a 40-33 deficit into the hafltime break on Friday night at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

The Mountaineers led by as many as 10 points early in the first half, but the No. 7 ranked Bears whittled away at that advantage and eventually went ahead.

Kevin Jones paced West Virginia with 12 points on an efficient 6-for-9 shooting to go with his seven rebounds. Darryl Bryant had seven points while Jabarie Hinds and Deniz Kilicli added five points each.

Brady Heslip was the big scorer for Baylor, racking up 13 points on 5-6 shooting. A.J. Walton and Pierre Jackson backed him up with seven points each.

The Bears shot a cool 46.7 percent for the half, including 6-13 from 3-point territory. If the Mountaineers are going to come back, they'll have to slow down Baylor's 80-point offensive pace.
