West Virginia Vs. Seton Hall: Mountaineers Struggle Mightily In First Half, Trail 38-22

Stay connected for news and updates

It was a rough first half for the West Virginia Mountaineers, who trail the Seton Hall Pirates 38-22 at halftime.

WVU got up early and then watched as the Pirates went on a 20-5 run and pushed their lead into double digits. The Mountaineers simply had problems putting the ball in the bucket, shooting a pathetic 27 percent from the field in the half.

The Mountaineers have had trouble getting their post game rolling as Seton Hall has clamped down on Kevin Jones. Deniz Kilicli got a lot of good looks early, but couldn't find his touch. Kilicli crumpled to the floor late in the half and did not return. Jones finished the half with 9 points and 5 rebounds. Truck Bryant, one game after going off for 34 points, has six points on ice-cold 1-for-7 shooting from the field.

West Virginia will have to figure out a way to deal with the Pirates zone in the second half or this could get even more lopsided.
