The West Virginia Mountaineers, coming off a bye week, have slipped to sixth in the Big 12 after back-to-back losses. The No. 2 Kansas State Wildcats lead the league with a perfect 5-0 conference record.
Even though the West Virginia Mountaineers are 5-2 thus far and ranked 21st in the BCS, two consecutive losses before their recent bye week have them stuck in the middle of the Big 12 standings. A 2-2 conference record puts the Mountaineers sixth in the ten-team league.
The Kansas State Wildcats are the No. 2 team in the BCS and their perfect 5-0 conference record puts them atop the Big 12 standings.
Following Kansas State there are a pair of interstate battles for second through fifth place. The Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys have identical 3-1 conference records and are both 5-2 on the season. Behind the Oklahoma schools, the Texas Longhorns and Texas Tech Red Raiders are in the fourth and fifth spots with matching 3-2 Big 12 records and 6-2 overall marks.
