The AP has released its Week 4 college football Top 25, and West Virginia finds itself at No. 8 in the rankings. The Mountaineers rose one spot after a 42-12 victory over James Madison on Saturday.
West Virginia is among five Big 12 conference teams in the poll. Oklahoma is tops in the league at No. 6. Texas (12), Kansas State (15) and TCU (17) also make an appearance.
Alabama remains at No. 1, while USC drops to No. 13 after their loss to Stanford. The Cardinal moved into the top 10 at No. 9 on the heels of their upset victory on Saturday night. USC's drop means the LSU Tigers moved into the second spot.
