Backup guard Jonnie West, who had planned to forgo his final year of eligibility to pursue academic interests, has apparently rejoined the Mountaineers. No formal announcement has been made by the university, but John Flowers and Kevin Jones have both tweeted that West has rejoined the team.
↵It is not known at this time whether West will be using a scholarship or walking on. With David Nyarsuk not enrolling this semester there is a scholarship available for West, whether he chooses to use it or not.
↵West will add depth at the backup guard positions while Senior guard Casey Mitchell is suspended. It's not known how long Mitchell will be suspended or what the future holds for him. Right now, my gut thinks that this may be a move to give WVU adequate numbers of players as they begin pre-season practice.
