The Sporting News has a list of the best 402 (!) sports cities in the U.S. I think they might have spent too much time worrying about whether Cheney, Washington (No. 237) was better or worse than Pullman (No. 119) and Yakima (No. 402) and not enough time dealing with the top of the list. They're pretty vague about how they came by the rankings, but these are statistical rankings. But if a statistic tells you that Miami (No. 11) is a better sports town than Pittsburgh, that statistic needs to be tossed.
↵Morgantown comes in at No. 55, and State College comes in at No. 67.
