When the AP Top 25 comes out this week, only No. 9 Nebraska, which lost 9-6 to Texas A&M, is likely to leave the top ten. No. 1 Oregon, No. 2 Auburn and No. 4 TCU were idle this week, and No. 3 Boise State destroyed Fresno State, 51-0. No. 5 LSU won a close game against Mississippi and may fall a bit in the rankings as a result. No. 6 Wisconsin beat Michigan by 20. No. 7 Stanford whipped Cal. No. 8 Ohio State eked out a win against No. 21 Iowa. No. 10 Alabama destroyed Georgia State.
Nebraska's loss opens a space for another team in the top ten. Michigan State would be a possibility, but the Spartans' narrow win over the mediocre Purdue doesn't inspire much confidence. That could mean No. 10 could go to Oklahoma State. Here's my guess at the rankings this week:
1. Oregon
2. Auburn
3. Boise State
4. TCU
5. Wisconsin
6. LSU
7. Stanford
8. Ohio State
9. Alabama
10. Oklahoma State
Michigan State should be just after that, and should probably be the last Big Ten team in the rankings - I imagine Iowa will drop out after losing to OSU.
