Central Connecticut State Vs. Penn State: Lions Look To Improve To 4-0

Penn State looks to continue its strong start this evening when the Nittany Lions host Central Connecticut State at 7:00 tonight at the Bryce Jordan Center. The game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.

The Blue Devils bring a high flying offense to Happy Valley, averaging just over 82 points per game in their first three games of the season, all wins.

Penn State will counter with a defense that has been stout in the early going, holding three opponents under 60 points and one under 50. Tonight will be the Lions' final tuneup before their trip to Oxford, Miss., to take on their first big conference opponent of the year, Ole Miss.

And of course next week, the Lions host two key games at the Jordan Center, the first against a green Maryland squad in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge, the second a regional foe Duquesne. All three games will be tough, so it's important for the Lions to get wins where they can. Central Connecticut State looks to be a solid squad, but Penn State, if it has any hopes of making the NCAA tournament, should be able to handle the challenge.
