This is about as newsworthy as Terrelle Pryor saying he'll return for his senior season, but nevertheless, the annual Michigan State week question has been answered: Joe Paterno will coach Penn State in 2011.

"Yeah, you got something I don't know? I'm looking forward to it. We've struggled a little bit this year with youth, injuries and the whole bit. ... I think we can be a pretty good football team next year, and I'd like to be a part of it. ... It's been a good situation and I don't see any reason to leave it right now."

Recruiting geek freakout in 3...2...1...

Many Penn State fans will greet this as they always have: "Great, he can stay as long as he wants." However, people who are concerned about the state of Penn State recruiting are likely not happy. Expect to see some chatter about that, focused primarily on what has been a dud of a 2010 class with only five recruits thus far, for the rest of the week and into the offseason.
