Steelers Vs. Ravens: Ben Roethlisberger Wearing Boot On Sprained Foot, But Should Play

The Steelers will need Ben Roethlisberger in their showdown for the AFC North lead against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, but right now he's wearing a protective boot on his sprained foot after re-injuring it on Sunday against the Bills. Fortunately, he should be ready to go for Sunday:

However, Tomlin said he believes Roethlisberger will be able to play in Baltimore Sunday night. If he cannot, Byron Leftwich would start the game against the Ravens.

Roethlisberger said his right foot, hurt previously, was re-injured Sunday in Buffalo.

It's a bit of a shame, actually, that Roethlisberger won't be able to practice. He and the rest of the offense looked badly out of sync against the Bills, waiting way too long before passing and often getting himself into trouble. Baltimore's much better defense could give the Steelers fits if Roethlisberger can't make better judgment calls about when to get rid of the ball, and that's exactly the kind of thing that can be addressed in practice. Let's hope he returns Thursday.
