The Steelers are probably pleased today after the NFL handed down two fines to Ravens players Jameel McClain and Haloti Ngata on Monday for illegal hits in Pittsburgh's 13-10 win at Baltimore on Sunday night.
↵McClain was fined $40,000 for his hit on Steelers tight end Heath Miller, who had he neck snapped backward when McClain hit him while Miller was trying to catch a pass in the second half. Ngata was docked $15,000 for putting his hand in the face mask of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on a sack in the first quarter.
↵For a Steelers team that has often been on the other side of fines from the NFL for so-called illegal hits, Monday's fines likely represent a degree of equal justice after linebacker James Harrison had been fined a combined $125,00 for hits made earlier this season. Perhaps this week will yield fewer cries of selective fines from the Steelers and less distractions.
